406 ELT Proposal from Transport Canada

Transport Canada has a proposal to make 406 ELT installations mandatory.  I am normally completely opposed to mandatory anything but in this case the proposal seems to make sense.  I carry a GPS based spot locator beacon as well as a 121.5 ELT but this combination will also work very well with a 406 ELT.  The main problem with the SPOT personal locator beacon is that it has no provision to automatically trigger a message in a crash.
