Saskatoon to Rocanville

Flew to Rocanville Mine last week.  It was the only rainy day in Saskatchewan in months but a cold front had passed over Saskatoon in the night, and we had to fly under it to get to the mine site in the south east of Saskatchewan.

There are no mountains.  Flying here is so much easier and relaxing.  We just ducked underneath and flew through scattered rain showers to the airstrip at the mine.  They even turned on the lights at the airstrip for us.

I had not considered how much more thought goes into weather planning in BC.  Here, if the visibility goes bad, you just go around, loiter for a while, or land and wait it out.
