Winter Flying

Took the aircraft up yesterday for a $200 cup of coffee with my father in Nipawin.  Unbelievably beautiful day for a flight.  The cool -10 degree air means more power and more lift.  The engine works much better with six lungs instead of five also.

Took about 30 minutes with the 800 watt hot air electric heater stuffed into the nose wheel well, and another in cabin, to warm it up.  A little bit of snow on the runway was no hassle.

It was one of the busiest days flying I've done in a while.  A new flight school in Tisdale seems to have added lots of activity.  People doing touch and goes in Melfort.  Ice fishing on Tobin Lake.  All sorts of airplanes letting each other know where they were.  There was even a fellow doing training flights at Richter Field.  Nice to have some company.
