Instrument Training

Managed to get in the air last weekend.  It has been far too long.  Cold weather, snow, freezing fog, freezing rain, more snow, drifting snow, etc.  But it was finally clear enough to fly and warm enough and the runway clear.

Flew some approaches into Saskatoon and bought some fuel.

Picked up a non-contact infrared thermometer.  Very nice item to have and removes all doubt when wondering what tempertaure the oil pan is at.

That is a picture of it next to the posting of the cold weather Lycoming service bulletin and the thermometer up in the hangar.  It was actually -10 degrees that day but the sun had been shining in through the hangar door for a few hours at this point.
