Autocontrol II

 Over the Christmas break I managed to reverse engineer and build a Piper Autocontrol II amplifier.  It really is a pretty and elegant design.  They changed the DC amplifier output stage from the original to eliminate the need for a carefully selected resistor by ensuring the output was fed by a form of differential amplifier.  Pretty interesting really.
