VATSIM and Radios
I managed to get vPILOT installed, which is the client that interfaces with the flight simulator. It took some convincing as it did not want to work properly with the press to talk button. Once I found online that vPILOT needs to be run as administrator it started recognizing the keypress from within the simulator.
It turns out that this item can replicate actual radio transmissions including range and everything else. Switching frequencies in the simulator switches frequencies in vPILOT which means you can only speak to the people on that frequency. It even simulates the VHF distortion and range attenuation.
I haven't managed to actually speak to anyone on it yet but that is next!
